They are alone, they are lost, they are scared. Now there is hope!

Leslie’s Story
Leslie was living a wonderful life, secure in her marriage with two beautiful children, expecting a third. After the news of her husband's job transfer, she was eagerly looking forward to moving up North. Little did she know that her husband had methodically planned to get out of the relationship. He left under the pretext of going ahead to set things up. Leslie was temporarily staying with friends, all her belongings in boxes, when she received the call that would change her life. He told her "I don't love you, I want nothing to do with you or that baby you're carrying." Leslie's world crumbled. She was instantly a single mother of 2 small children, seven months pregnant and broke with no source of income. She had no home, no family to help and no hope. How could she do it? They were soon to be homeless.

Olivia’s Story
As a young girl of 5, Olivia had been sexually abused by her uncle on several occasions. Her parents chose to look the other way and swept it under the rug. Olivia grew up believing that love was something she had to sacrifice her dignity for. Her first adult relationship ended when she was six months pregnant — he just couldn't deal with the pressure and responsibility. Olivia was able to live with a friend until she gave birth. She was given notice when her baby was 3 weeks old. It was then when she met Ray, a friend of a friend. He swept her off her feet and promised to take care of her and her baby girl. For two long years she tolerated the drinking, the pushing and hitting all in the name of love and security. She gave birth to her second child just days before he turned the abuse towards the toddler he had promised to protect. Olivia knew the security of a home and warm meals wasn't worth the safety of her children. How could she get out? Where would she live? Would she ever feel loved? Would her children have a chance?
